Civil unrest over presidential election results may delay my vacation. Offices are closed, foreigners are encouraged to stock up, stay put and lay low. Delay the trip is what they have said. Hmmm. Surely there is a way through this. Looking for Plan "B" and "C"!

An Extended Vacation?
I just learned that there are a number of public holidays, in addition to Easter, where offices will be closed. Whoohoo! this means a couple of additional days for my vacation. We're scrambling to reorganize the trip--preferring to stay in SA longer, if possible. We'll see. I need to start unpacking and repacking since a quite different wardrobe will be needed.

Ready!
In just about 10 days I'll continue my exploration of the Motherland. South Africa is about a 10 hour flight from where I am and I understand in many ways it is worlds apart from Nigeria.
The tourism board touts the diversity of the nation culturally, geographically, etc. I'm interested to see this post-apartheid diversity in action. A colleague and I are going to Johannesburg, Capetown and then over to Zambia. I can't wait--Robben Island, Victoria Falls, the oceans and of course the vinyards!
I'm counting down. Someone suggested It might be hard for me to come back to Nigeria after visiting South Africa. We'll see!
Ready for some fun!
